Wildlife Management Planning
We can assist you in preparing your property for Wildlife Management Use with ways to propagate a sustaining breeding, migrating, or wintering population of indigenous and/or exotic wild animals.
A Wildlife Management Plan gives information on the property’s history and current use, establishes landowner goals for the property and provides a set of activities designed to integrate wildlife and habitat improvement. A Wildlife Management Plan is clear evidence that the owner’s use of the land is primarily for wildlife management.
Wildlife Management Activities:
- habitat control;
- erosion control;
- predator control;
- providing supplemental supplies of water;
- providing supplemental supplies of food;
- providing shelters; and
- making census counts to determine population.
Assessment for hazards
Ranch Consulting will perform an initial assessment of your
property and make recommendations for mitigating any immediately
evident hazards in your wildlife management area. As seen below,
this European Red Deer has twine from a bale of hay wrapped around
its antlers. It appears that one deer's antlers initially caught in
the twine and was then shed. Later, this deer got tied to the twine and
the abandoned antlers. Ranch Consulting removed the twine and set about
to prevent twine from getting caught in future wildlife management
of the property.
